Transcript: On July 17th, 1862 President Lincoln declared African Americans could serve in the U.S. military by issuing the Second Confiscation and Militia Act African Americans were not allowed to engange in combat unitl the Emancipation Proclamation The Importance of Different Racial Groups Different racial groups played a key role in the Civil War African Americans fought for the North, which enraged southerners, Hispanics fought for both sides and Native Americans became scouts and giudes. Transcript: Steps The first thing that I do is choose a photograph from the internet, then once I have my picture selected I open it with Photoshop. I then duplicate the image with Photoshop, after duplicating it I then desaturated the image. after that i select the area that i want to keep in with color with the Quick selection tool. after that i use the layer and select the desaturated one. Then i use the eraser tool to erase the black an white and then the part of the image that is selected will become in color.
